| In 18 years
of involvement with speech recognition, Mark T. Anikst, speech
scientist and software engineer, has seen technology break the confines
of research labs and enter the mainstream. He participated in pioneering
research and development of speech recognition engines and in speech
enabling of various applications, including medical transcription,
air traffic control and warehouse operations. At Cadre, Mark is responsible for adopting speech, multimodal, RFID and other innovative value-adding technologies for Cadence Fulfillment, our integrated logistics software applications. Prior to joining Cadre Technologies, Inc. in 2002, Mark worked for a number of years at Speech Systems Inc., Los Angeles CA / Boulder CO, as Director of Systems R&D, and later as Speech Scientist where he lead the development of the SSI SR (Phonetic) Engine for use in a variety of applications. When commercial SR engines from other vendors became available, Mark selected and adopted the best-of-breed engines for speech-enabled warehouse applications. He also worked as Sr. Computer Scientist at SRI International, Menlo Park, CA where he conducted core SR technology research. Mark has several publications at the SR industry conferences such as ICASSP and SpeechTek to his credit. He holds an MS in Applied Mathematics from the Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia.
