Simplified Gainsharing

Simplified Gainsharing.

A program that dramatically improves company performance and productivity by improving work force motivation and retention.

Simplified GainSharing is a program designed specifically to address the problem of employee disengagement. It has proven exceptionally effective at motivating employees in operating environments across three different distribution networks (union and non-union) comprising 16 facilities over five years.

The program relies on a simple method, comparing actual performance of work at the individual level against a pre-determined expectation.  When workers perform above those expectations, they are compensated in the following month by an increase in their hourly pay rate for the whole month.  So long as quality is maintained along with increased productivity, the rate increase continues.  This pay improvement is funded from the productivity gains - roughly one third of the savings are returned directly to the employee while two thirds accrue to the company.

Most workers can make the requisite improvements (as little as 3 minutes per hour) to benefit from the program.  As little as 5% above the acceptable minimum performance, sustained for a month, earns the employee a $.25 cent raise in the following month.  Three months into the program, between 10% and 20% of the workforce is typically earning GainShares.  By the end of the first full year, participation usually exceeds 60% and it keeps growing.

Cadre Technologies offers a variety of Gainsharing services including seminars, training, consulting and installation of the program to help you get started. The capital investment for the program is low, ramp up time is minimal and results begin to accrue within a few weeks.
