| Cadre Announces Cadence Container Planning Assistant
February 25, 2002, Denver, Colorado – Cadre Technologies today announced the availability of a package planning module for its Cadence Fulfillment software suite. The new module, Cadence Container Packing Assistant (CPA) helps distributors and fulfillment companies plan packing, picking, box sizes, shipping weights and costs for each order. It is built to coordinate order, product and shipping information with Cadence Warehouse Management System (WMS), Order Management System (OMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS).
“This new container planning system ties everything together,” said Joe Peters, President of Cadre Technologies. “When an order is taken, the service rep can use product information including size, weight and location to plan all logistics functions including picking, packing and shipping. It provides a tremendous advantage for companies to predict cost and timing of orders.”
Cadence Container Planning uses weight and cube dimensional information to direct box planning including size of box, number of cartons, picking and packing order, and packing method. The system includes interface to inline scale to verify contents of shipping boxes and a quality assurance check to inspect boxes that do not meet pre-determined weight calculations. It also works with Cadence Transportation Management System (TMS) to calculate shipping costs including least cost carrier.
